Route description
From the Sola Gratia boarding house we go to the Bystřice square. From here we ride onto the road in the direction of Chvalčov. After the railroad overpass we turn into the forest onto a sidewalk and then upriver along the bank of the Bystřička river we cross the entire legth of Chvalčov (1) to Říka. At the bridge after the hotel we simply cross over from the right to the left bank and continue upriver past a fish breeding station to the next bridge across the Bystřička river. This trail leads us to the road junction to Tesák. We ascend along this road past the "Na Valaškách" cottages where the steep climb to "Liškárna" begins. There we notice a right turn across the bridge into the forest. The road onto the bridge is usually closed with barriers, which we must overcome. After the bridge to the left a steep climb begins along an asphalt-stone road which takes us after about 1,5 km ride to an intersection. The asphalt road continues straight another few metres and ends at a lumber stockpile. However, we turn to the right onto a forest road, along which we descend a short distance, and then we gradually begin to ascend again through the timber brush. After about a kilometer´s distance the forest clears and we arrive at the crossroads to Klapinov. From here we can first set out along the red-marked trail for about not quite a kilometer to the "Pod Skalným" crossroads and then along the green-marked trail to the "Skalný" crossroads. From there we continue along the blue-marked trail through Hořansko to Rusava. However, we descend to the ridge in the direction of Hostýn and turn left downhill along a field road. The road will lead us to the last buildings in Rusava. Here at the tourist crossroads we come to an asphalt road along which we ride about 4 kms to Rusava (2). We ride through Hořansko village up to the crossroads at a cinema where we turn to Brusné village (3) and at the Brusenka restaurant we turn right again to join the road in the direction of Slavkov village. At the village square intersection in Slavkov of four roads we select the one which leads past the store and gradually ascends towards the forest. After the last homes at the end of the asphalt road and along the dirt road we arrive at the woods of "Na Bedlině". Continuing straight down the hill to Končiny we come to Sloboda street in Bystřice. The route of today´s trip is 21 kilometres long.

Description of sights

Chvalčov (1) - this municipality originated with the merging of the Chvalčov and Chvalčova Lhota townships in 1951. There are several natural reservations, marked tourist trails recreation centres and in the winter skiing facilities, including ski lifts. It is the second SOS village in the Czech Republic.
Memorable sites: The tiny Basilica of the Ascension of the Virgin Mary from the middle of the 17th century, Mount Holy Hostýn in the Chvalčov township region, and a chapel dedicated to St. Cyril and Method. Historical monuments include the ruins of Obřany castle, and a crucifix tribulation road to the Holy Hostýn designed by the architect Dušan Jurkovič.

Rusava (2) - the wallachian village Rusava is situated in the magnificant environs of the Hostýn hills and was founded according to the foundation charter in 1657 by the nobleman Jan of Rottal. Nowadays the village is an important tourist centre. In 2002 Rusava received the village-of-the-year award in the Zlín county and in the national competitions it occupied 3rd place.

Nature bathing - dam Rusava, the Rusava museum - the painter Adolf Kašpar´s and village museum. Decorative or household ceramics can become a nice souvenir or present of our picturesque village.

Brusné (3) - the Brusné village is located in a hilly countryside in the altitude of 323 m above sea level. The Holy Hostýn (735 m n.m) is situated above it. A small water area of ponds serves for fish breeding and sport fishing.
Historical sights: Křídlo (ruin of castle dating from the half of the 14th century, visible moat - over 3 metres deep, fortification marks, remains of walling and cylindrical tower. In the middle of the 15th century there was one of the biggest false mintage workrooms in Moravia. At the end of the 15th century the castle is recorded as demolished.
